Piano Performance & Music Cultivation Seminar (4 meetings)

at the Horowitz Center for the Performing Arts at Howard Community College

Led by Gemini Piano Trio pianist, Dr. Hsiu-Hui Wang, this seminar series is held in an informal masterclass setting and covers all aspects of musical knowledge, wisdom, wellness, and piano performance preparation and planning strategies. This seminar aims to provide a fun and supportive atmosphere to help students build confidence, offers performing experiences, and nurtures their appreciation for music. Students will have the opportunity to participate in discussions and give constructive feedback to their peers.

The seminar consists of 4 sessions and an opportunity to participate in the post-seminar recital at the recommendation of Dr. Wang. The seminar sessions meet during the spring semester from February through June and during the fall semester from September through December. Occasionally, if necessary, the seminar sessions may be extended to 2 hours to accommodate all performers with a short break. Eligible students may also participate in certain TMI recitals and HCC Masterclasses, as well as community outreach performance opportunities at the recommendation of Dr. Wang. The outreach performances may be counted toward community service credits. Please refer to individual schools for more details.

Maximum number of enrollment is 15 or at the discretion of the instructor. Scholarship based on financial need may be available. Please contact Dr. Wang for more details.
